The Mackintosh hotel has been derelict for many years now, but work has begun to refirbish the building. The owner has agreed to only make the top floors into flats and to leave the bottom floors for community use, but this will only happen if The Youth Factor is able to purchase the building, otherwise it could be sold to anyone!

This is a plan to install benches made by local youth volunteers around the ward. The benches will have shelter and USB charging ports!

The Community Orchard will start with the permanent planting of 144 baby apple trees, then one tree will be planted for every child born in the village. Planted to provide fruit for our future generations, the orchard will also create jobs for local people.

 This is a service we are setting up in which we match youths looking for odd jobs with people offering odd jobs. The benefits of this type of work are immense and have the potential to strengthen community spirit!
